I’m a wedding coordinator and everybody thinks that my work life is so magical and sweet. Well, they are absolutely wrong about it. My to-do list is unbelievable and sometimes I look at myself at the mirror and congratulate myself for still being sane and alive amidst the tight deadlines and impossible tasks. In a day I meet with brides, designers, wedding stylists, bakers, calligraphers, bands, ministers and the list just goes on and on. Aside from going to the spa to get myself a good massage and a rose milk bath, I play at www.highwinspoker.com. A colleague recommended poker, I can now play poker anywhere and anytime. I play a lot of 7 card stud poker and omaha poker. It’s convenient and I can even play it while I’m on the car. Probably, playing keeps my sanity because I believe in a work and play life balance. After a client meeting and reading a wedding checklist, I log on and play, and I swear, my brain functions more than when I don’t play. Ideas rush through my mind and I take down notes while playing. After each game, I get in touch with the bride-to-be and most of the time, they say that they absolutely love the concepts I relay. Since I’m playing at home, I’m readily available to my clients. I don’t go through awkward situations wherein I need to leave a poker night because of a bride-to-be’s emergency. I just finish the game, switch off my computer, change into a nice dress and I’m off. To all dedicated workaholics like me, play poker and say goodbye to stress.
